What an incredible experience! The team (and yes there was a whole team) that showed up exceeded all of our expectations. This was our very first inspection and we really had no idea what to expect. We thought someone would show up and go room by room looking for big safety items and then chat with us and answer our questions. What actually happened was so so much better. Three members of the the team came including Jerry. Each member of the team was present, efficient, knowledgable, and genuinely interested in the assessment of our home. At times each professional worked independently on different assessments but at other times the team came together to complete reviews of specific systems. Thorough is not a strong enough word to fully explain how this team works. They combed over each wall, ceiling, floor, outlet, and fixture with a flashlight and critical eye. They picked up on the most minute imperfections and communicated everything they found in real time pointing it out to us as they went. They had no issue with addressing our concerns as they continued to do their work and were the most approachable individuals in our home buying team. They pointed out the difference between potentially hazardous findings and information that would just be helpful to a general home improvement wishlist. They went above and beyond to explain how to use the systems they examined in our new home making sure that we fully understood where the main cut offs to water, electricity, and gas were located and how they operated. At the end of our inspection all three team members sat down with us and our real estate agent to summarize and discuss everything that had been found. Each team member took turns contributing to the discussion with unique information they had contributed to our assessment. The team did not leave until all of our questions were answered. The following morning a full, detailed, report was sent to us that contained clear pictures and descriptions of the matters we had discussed in person. There were absolutely no surprises and the information was organized in a way that made it easy to confer with our real estate agent to submit requests to the seller. Not only was that report crucial to our ability to get the required considerations from the seller, but it also seconds as a very concise punch list for future home improvements as well. It might be a while before we buy our next home, but I'm positive who I will be calling for our next inspection. I would recommend Jerry and his team to anyone looking for a top notch inspection.

From start to finish, we found the team to be knowledgeable, trustworthy, helpful, and very professional. Tammy promptly returned my initial call, as well as a follow-up call I made with a question. With her cheery disposition and keen sense of what the inspection entails, she represents the company well. Jerry and Shane were right on time for our appointment, and as soon as we met them, we knew we were in good hands. They did an extremely thorough inspection and took the time to answer questions along the way. At no point did we feel that they rushed through anything, and we had complete faith in their findings. They nicely summarized the results at the end of our inspection and followed up the next morning with a full written report. Jerry came highly recommended to us, and we'd like to pass on this recommendation to those who are looking for a knowledgeable, trustworthy team who happen to be really nice folks, as well!

They are by far the best home inspectors I have come across in Connecticut. They are very thorough, accurate and they are up to date on all the changing building codes and safety concerns as it relates to homes of every age. At the end of every inspection they take the time to review their findings and inform my clients about what was found. As an agent a thorough inspection helps when guiding buyers to make the best decisions about their home purchase. This will sound like an ad - it's not. We hired Jerry Marren in the fall of 2018 to inspect two houses we were interested in buying, and then a full pre-purchase inspection once we settled on a house. He knows his craft. He was prompt, thorough, completely professional: an old school kind of professional in an era of 'transactional' business where poor customer service, poor follow-through, and lack of professionalism are the norm. He genuinely cared about doing a good job, and was really nice to work with. We've had previous home inspectors in two previous purchases; Jerry is in a different league. You will be glad you hired him.
